Certificate of good conduct
In accordance with section 30 (5) of the Federal Central Criminal Register Act, all public employers, including TU Berlin, are required to obtain a certificate of good conduct for official purposes in order to establish an unlimited term contract of employment or an appointment as a civil servant.
The certificate of good conduct is a certificate printed on a special type of green paper which states whether the person named on the certificate has been previously convicted or not.
You may only apply for a certificate of good conduct upon presentation of your personal ID or passport at a registry office or via the online portal of the Federal Ministry of Justice.
A certificate of good conduct for personal purposes is sent by the Federal Ministry of Justice directly to the applicant party. The Federal Ministry of Justice sends the certificate of good conduct for official purposes directly to TU Berlin. Please ensure, therefore, that you provide the reference code of the human resources team who requested the certificate of good conduct when submitting your application.
A certificate of good conduct currently costs EUR 13.00 (as of 10/2015). The fee is to be paid to the registry office when submitting the application. The University, unfortunately, cannot reimburse these costs.
